Blocked drains are one of the biggest drivers of urban flooding in Lagos. Our latest field report maps the pollution hotspots our volunteers encounter most often.

What we found

Plastic bags, sachet water wrappers, and food packaging account for the majority of the waste we remove. Much of it ends up in rivers and, eventually, the ocean.

What communities can do

The report recommends practical steps for residents, businesses, and local government, from better bin placement to weekly drain checks led by community associations.
