The challenge
In many rural communities, there is no formal waste collection at all. Rubbish is burned or dumped, harming air quality and soil.
Our approach
We work with community leaders to set up simple collection points and train local champions to sort recyclables that can be sold, creating a small income stream.
Early results
Three communities have now adopted the model, and early results show a significant drop in open burning.
